- Together with the application form, the applicant must submit two primary documents: proof of identification (POI) and proof of address (POA) (POA).
- If the application is deemed to be in order and contains all legitimate papers, the processing time is typically 15 days; if the application is for a PAN correction, the processing time is 25 days.
Mistakes to Avoid While Applying for a PAN Card
- To lower the possibility of any errors, overwriting should be avoided.
- Avoid using staple pins on the photo that could tear or harm it in some way.
- The signature must be legible, completed correctly, and placed in the designated box.
- Avoid writing any information in the box next to the signature, such as the date, designation, rank, etc.
- When entering details, be exact and explicit. For instance, don’t put your husband’s name in the father’s name section.
- After filling it out, review it to ensure that all of the information is accurate.
